Research Interest
Professor Hideki Tonda received his Doctor of Engineering from Kyushu University in 1973. He has done extensive research in a variety of areas related to the physical properties of materials : 1) study on yielding of nearly perfect copper single crystals using an etch pit technique, 2) anomalous temperature dependence on yielding due to non-basal slip in HCP metals, 3) computer simulation of dislocation core structure in HCP metals, 4) effects of crystallographic orientation on fatigue crack growth in HCP single crystals, 5) enhanced Jc of oxide superconductor by explosive compaction, 6) fabrication of oxide particle dispersed aluminum alloy composites by oxidation of melts.
