Biography
Nishimoto Soya was born and raised in Japan. He attended Kumamoto University where he received a B.Eng. degree in material science in 2014 and a Ph.D. degree in materials science in 2023. He has been engaged in metallurgical and materials science as assistant professor in Kumamoto University (2023-present). His current research interests toughening of Mg alloys through alloy design and process design. In particular, he focuses on the mechanisms of fracture and damage-tolerance in Mg alloys with heterogeneous microstructure.
