Our Goal / Our Educational Intention

We learn natural philosophy through studying physical metallurgy.

Welcome to the website of the Metallurgical Materials Design Laboratory.
This laboratory (Prof. Yamasaki's lab.) is devoted to develop novel light-weight structural metallic materials used for automobiles, rolling stocks, aircrafts, and so forth, where weight reduction is of importance. Our research interests include the development of new wrought Mg alloys with high strength, good ductility, and high corrosion-resistance, based on new multimodal microstructure design concept. We are currently engaged in the research and development of Mg alloys with a long period stacking ordered structure.
