当研究室の教育・研究方針 Education and Research Policy of our Laboratory

チタン及びチタン合金は、マグネシウム合金やアルミニウム合金よりも硬く強い材料です。しかも鉄よりも軽く、耐熱性があり、海水でも腐食しない画期的な特性を示します。当研究室では、金属工学の基盤技術である溶解・凝固、加工熱処理、組織制御、分析評価を基軸としたチタン合金開発に取り組むとともに、これまで従事してきたセラミックス、半導体工学、結晶工学そして機器分析の分野での培った経験やアイデアを積極的に取り入れて、異分野融合研究にも取り組んでいます。当研究室では、以下の方針の下、研究室一丸となって教育・研究に注力しています。
Titanium and its alloys stand at the forefront of modern materials engineering, boasting superior hardness and strength compared to magnesium and aluminum alloys. Not only are they lighter than iron, but they also possess exceptional heat resistance and exhibit unparalleled corrosion resistance, even in the harsh environments of seawater.
At our laboratory, we are dedicated to advancing the frontier of titanium alloy development, leveraging fundamental metallurgical techniques such as melting and solidification, processing and heat treatment, microstructure manipulation, and analytical assessment. Moreover, we embrace interdisciplinary collaboration, drawing from our extensive experience in ceramics, semiconductor engineering, crystal engineering, and instrumental analysis to fuel innovation in titanium alloy research.
Beyond the realm of traditional materials science, we actively pursue fusion research across diverse disciplines, seeking synergies and breakthroughs that transcend conventional boundaries. 3年生までの段階では研究といわれても何をしたいのか、何ができるのかイメージがつかめない人が多いと思います。これまでの座学や学生実験とは異なったスキルや能力が求められます。不安も多いと思いますが、まずは未知の分野に飛び込んで研究の第一歩を踏み出してみませんか。当研究室では、座学が苦手な人でも体を動かして実験することや好きな人、軽くて強靭そして優れた耐熱性を持つ金属材料を創ることに興味がある人、仲間と一緒に実験を楽しみたい人ならば、少々勉強に不安があっても大歓迎です。人前で話すことやコミュニケーションな苦手な人でも、面倒見の良い先輩たちや教員が丁寧にフォローしますので安心してください。私たちと一緒にチタン合金開発を思いっきり楽しんで自分の殻を破ってみませんか?

当研究室は、チタン合金を開発を通じて社会に貢献することを目標としてます。そこで、材料創出・機能創製・現象解明の3本柱で研究テーマを遂行しています。”千里の道も一歩から”を合言葉に、着実に成果を出すことを心がけ、丁寧な実験と大胆なアプローチで目標達成に取り組んでいます。
Our mission is to make meaningful contributions to society through the advancement of titanium alloys. To this end, our research is structured around three core pillars: material creation, function enhancement, and elucidating underlying phenomena. We are dedicated to realizing our objectives through meticulous experimentation and innovative approaches, ensuring that our efforts yield impactful results for the benefit of society.
